In this bold new performance of The Spirit of India, Bollywood Masala Orchestra and Dancers of India present a rich recipe of dynamic rhythm, dance, spirituality, and a fusion of Indian and Western instruments, creating a truly unique interpretation of traditional Indian dance and music.

Bollywood Masala Orchestra and Dancers of India is the brainchild of Artistic Director Rahis Bharti. From an early age Bharti was captivated by both the rich traditions and modern interpretations of his country's signature sound and vision, and endeavored to bring them to the forefront of the world stage. Bharti has taken Bollywood Masala around the globe, transforming prestigious festivals, concert halls and theatres into lavish stages of his own imagining. With 17 professional artists on stage, Bharti's The Spirit of India is a veritable feast of Indian sounds, featuring a mix of Indian and Western instruments such as bass drums, side drums, trombone, tabla, dholak, harmonium, and clarinet, among many others. The show also features colorful costumes, female dancers, a fakir, and acrobats from Jaipur, Jodhpur, Sikar, and Dhaod, among many others.

The Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts at Pepperdine University provides high-quality activities for over 50,000 people from 664 zip codes annually through performances, rehearsals, museum exhibitions, and master classes.
