ONCE, WAR HORSE, EVITA & More Unveiled for Shea's Performing Arts Center 2013-14

Shea's Performing Arts Center was abuzz as President Anthony Conte and Producer Albert Nocciolino announced the 2013-14 season Thursday evening in front of a crowd of thrilled season ticket holders in the historic downtown theatre. The new season will kick off on October 15 with a fantastic, entertaining lineup! GHOST THE MUSICAL kicks off the season on October 15; War Horse; Dr. Seuss' HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS! THE MUSICAL; THE GERSHWINS' PORGY AND BESS, winner of the 2012 Tony Award for best revival of a musical; the smash-hit musical ONCE, that was the recipient of eight Tony Awards; and the must-see EVITA to close out the Broadway season. For special engagements, the popular Neglia Ballet production of THE NUTCRACKER will appear again in November, fan favorite WICKED will fly back into town and will play a three-week run in January 2014, and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST will return in late April of 2014. GHOST The Musical breathes glorious new life into a timeless love story. Adapted from the hit film, GHOST follows Sam and Molly, a young couple whose connection takes a shocking turn after Sam's untimely death. Trapped between two worlds, Sam refuses to leave Molly when he learns she is in grave danger. Sam turns to a storefront psychic who helps him protect Molly and avenge his death. Buffalo will be thrilled by the iconic and magical moments from the Oscar-winning movie GHOST in this all-new musical!

A heart-warming tale of loyalty and friendship, and winner of five 2011 Tony Awards, War Horse is a play telling the story of young Albert and his beloved horse Joey. When Joey is sold to the cavalry and shipped from England to France, fate takes him on an extraordinary journey. Albert cannot forget Joey and he embarks on a mission to find him and bring him home.

EVITA tells Eva Peron's unforgettable true story, and features some of theater's most beautiful songs, including "Don't Cry for Me Argentina," "Another Suitcase in Another Hall" and "High Flying, Adored." What a way to close out the season!
