On Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at 7:00 PM, CPR – Center for Performance Research will hold its annual Spring Benefit which will gather artists, friends, and supporters at CPR’s home in Williamsburg for an evening of RITUAL with communal rites, flowing libations, and ecstatic offerings to celebrate CPR. Proceeds from the event support CPR’s artistic development programs, which provide artists with critical time, space, and resources for the creation and incubation of new work in contemporary dance, performance, and time-based art.

The celebratory evening is hosted by River L. Ramirez with ceremonies, processionals, divinations, and special performances by some of the incredible experimental artists who have come through CPR’s doors to create their work, including Antonio Ramos, Johann Diedrick with Temar France, Caleb Giles, and Alex Smith, Kamikaze Jones, Beth Gill, Martita Abril, Ethan Philbrick and Anh Vo, and DJ pure xtra (aka Raymond Pinto). Guests will enjoy light fare and drinks from local North Brooklyn businesses with food by Cozy Royale, natural wine from Zev Rovine Selections, and dessert from Fortunato Bros.

The event also features a raffle to take home one of five spectacular artworks donated by CPR artists and friends, with works by Maria Baranova, Barnett Cohen, Jibz Cameron/Dynasty Handbag, Raymond Pinto, and Danh Vo. Anyone can enter (even if not attending the event), and raffle tickets are $25 each, with no limit on the number of entries. The raffle drawing will take place live at CPR's Spring Benefit on June 5.

“We are so excited to welcome artists and friends to CPR as we honor the divine act of experimentation and embodied practice with rituals, spells, hymnals, and other devotional acts at our Spring Benefit,” says Alexandra Rosenberg, CPR’s Executive Director. “This year’s theme comes from the radical and ceremonial spaces we see so many artists working in at CPR, and as performance continues to be a sacred place for collective healing, discourse, imagination, and fantasy.”

Tickets for the Spring Benefit are $250-$750, with limited $150 ‘COVEN’ tickets for artists and arts workers. Tickets are 100% tax-deductible, and may be purchased online at CPR2024SpringBenefit.eventbrite.com.
