Presented by Loramers Productions, Ltd. and directed by THE NIGHT LARRY KRAMER KISSED ME's Obie Award winner David Drake, THE GIFT is a new American drama by Steve Lyons that takes place in the late1960's. The themes of racial and social divisions and the conflict between science and religion in the play are as relevant today as they were in this tumultuous time in our cultural history.

Moving back to his southern Appalachian home to restore the medical practice of his deceased father, a young Thom Riddle meets and falls in love with Eshie, the beautiful black Evangelist, who is blessed with the gift of tongues. Complications arise when Thom begins questioning of her faith and this perceived "gift" setting off a series of events and emotions that opens up the racial and socio/economic issues of the community, his family and her church's pastor, a dynamic and commanding man, who is a pivotal force in the unfolding events that lead Eshie to her true voice.

THE GIFT stars Beau Jackett, Sallie Tighe, Jimi Little, Jane E. Macdonald (*appears courtesy of Actors' Equity Association) and Gabby Calixteas. The production will run for 12 performances from March 19 through April 05. Opening night is Thursday, March 19 at 7:30 pm.
