After last year's success, the entire cast from A Year with Frog and Toad will be returning to Stoneham Theatre for the family friendly musical, The Dinosaur Musical, directed by Caitlin Lowans, with music by Robert Reale and book & lyrics by Willie Reale. The Dinosaur Musical comes from the creators of A Year with Frog and Toad and The A.R.T.'s Johnny Baseball. Steve Barkhimer and Edward Barker, who played Frog and Toad last year, as well as Mary Callanan (Mouse), Matt Spano (Snail), and Ceit McCaleb Zweil (Turtle), will again be a part of this talented cast. The Dinosaur Musical is appropriate for musical theatre-goers of all ages and is suggested for children in the 3rd - 6th grade.

After a meteor strikes the earth, all the dinosaur species agree to work together, herbivores and carnivores alike. But when the Tyrannosarus king passes away, the delicate balance is upset. This show follows three "tween" age dinos: Quincy, a Tyrannosaurus, who is finding it hard to follow in the footsteps of his father, Mindy, a spunky Parasaurolophus who is also living in the shadow of her famous mother and Eleanor, a T-Rex who befriends Mindy and learns through their friendship, the power of working together.

Director Caitlin Lowans says, "This cast couldn't be better! We have the return of all five members of the Frog and Toad cast including Mary Callanan, who gets to show off her cabaret chops as
songstress Carlotta DeVries and of course, Matt Spano, the actor who won so many rave reviews as the Snail. We've also added some great new actors like Meredith Stypinski and Matthew Kacergis, as
well as Jenna Lee Scott and Aimee Doherty who have just come off Wheelock's production of Honk!. I've enjoyed Aimee's work ever since Into the Woods at New Rep, and it's a pleasure to direct her in her first Stoneham show."

Stoneham Theatre will be offering a family discount to The Dinosaur Musical. For every student/child ticket that is bought, $5 will be taken off the full-price ticket. A Pajama Party Night will be held at the Saturday March 6th show at 6pm. Everybody who comes to Saturday night's performance in their pajamas will get a fabulous prize. There will also be a talkback on Sunday March 7th, following the 1pm matinee performance. Join the artists who bring The Dinosaur Musical to life in a lively and educational discussion of the play. Birthday parties at Stoneham Theatre are also available. For $150 parents can reserve a private party room, a birthday cake, a special gift for the kids, a backstage tour, and a visit from one of The Dinosaur Musical actors. It's only $20 per person (adults included) to see the show, in addition to the $150 reservation fee.
