This rare production of Miller's devastating one act is sublime. It is not an easy play to sit through but it is sadly as relevant today as the day it was written. An amazing ensemble of 17 has sparks flying all over the stage for the entire evening. Michael Wilson's direction is very, very good. For $25.00, I would not miss this.

I am going on Thursday. Glad to hear it's so good. I'm really looking forward to it. Can you tell me what the running time is. Thanks.

It felt like a solid 90 minutes - might have been a bit less. No intermission.

I saw the original production of the play at a preview in November of 1965. It has remained in my mind--- great performances by David Wayne, Joseph Wiseman and Hal Holbrook.

reread it about five years ago---tough! Although I don't know if I will see it this time around, a solid production

can be a very meaningful experience.

I agree this is a stunning production. If you can get a $25 ticket, get one. No matter where you sit. I would even pay $65 for this.

Let me just say this, the grown man, sitting next to me was sobbing when the lights went up. He was unable to get out of his seat. I didn't have quite that reaction, but it's shattering. So well acted and directed. This will be the hottest off Broadway ticket in town when the reviews come out.  I especially enjoyed James Carpinello who gives a powerful performance. Richard Thomas is a wonderful actor. Jonathan Hadary is not recognizable as the "Old Jew". Not a week link in the cast. 17 Men in the Cast. I had a few minor things with the direction, but I won't put any spoilers here.

I was in Row D pretty close to center. It wasn't too close. It was a perfect seat. So glad I bought this ticket some time ago.

I just bought two tickets, based on this thread. There are a few performances in November left for $25. The extension is $65, just in case you are on a budget. I thought I was Arthur Millered out after A View From a Bridge, which was a bit too intense for me, so we'll see!

Hard to believe there isn't much discussion of this great production. I agree with the folks, above, this is the Arthur Miller play to see. Having just seen this and A View From the Bridge, this blows that off the stage.

I am not a big Miller fan and had only heard of this play, but knew little about it. It is 90 intense and disturbing minutes that is so timely and relevant to what is happening, in the world, that you could change the location and have an "in the moment," work. I prefer not to give any spoilers about this one.

The cast is uniformly exceptional. James Carpinello is, at turns, humane and evil and, who knew he had this performance in him. He's wonderful. Richard Thomas surprises me every time I see him on stage. He gives a layered performance that makes you think one thing, then another, only to be surprised by something else. How is it, Jonathan Hadary makes your eyes continually return to him (I won't give spoilers, but it's an actor feat, to accomplish what he does). Each cast member deserves praise.

The play has it's humorous moments and, at the outset, we laugh, not really aware of where we are or why we are there. As we start to feel the tension build, the humor becomes increasingly uncomfortable and nervous, until there is no more humor. Miller was adept as using the situation to keep characters and audience off-balance.

I liked the single unit set and lighting. I agree that there are a few directorial issues that I'm sure will be fixed easily and nothing that detracts from a powerful story.

If you haven't grabbed a ticket for this, it's a well-spent twenty-five dollars. The play will stick with me, for a long time.
