PINKALICIOUS STORY TIME Begins at Wetumpka Depot Theatre Today
The Wetumpka Depot Players are kicking off summer fun with Pinkalcious Story Time today, June 11 at 10am at the Wetumpka Depot Theatre.
Pinkalicious will make a special appearance to entertain those attending and promises a pink treat and a photo opportunity! Adapted from one of the most beloved contemporary children's classics, Pinkalicious the Musical tells the story of a headstrong little girl who loves the color pink so much that she can't stop eating pink cupcakes despite warnings from her parents. Her pink indulgence lands her at the doctor's office with Pinkititis, an affliction that turns her pink from head to toe. This colorful fun-filled family musical is sure to have everyone in the family tickled pink.
"We are delighted to offer this summer enrichment opportunity for children in our community," said Kristy Meanor, Depot executive director. " Summer at the Depot is quite exciting when children are with us in the theatre. Pinkalicious Story Time will kick off our summer youth program. This year our young adult leaders and young actors are presenting Pinkalicious the Musical in late June."
"It's going to be a pinkareffic time for children all around the River Region," said Lizzy Woodall, the young actor playing the cup cake loving, Pinkalicious.
"Story Time will be a great introduction to Pinkalicious the Musical. We are having a great time putting the musical together. The show has catchy songs and a hilarious story line that even parents will enjoy." Woodall is a rising 9th grader at Wetumpka High School and a veteran of the Depot and Alabama Shakespeare Festival stages.
