Silver Spring Stage presents the 2011 One Act Festival with three weekends of short plays featuring new works by local playwrights, Irish plays and a memorial for 9/11. The 2011 One Act Festival will perform weekends August 18 to September 4.

Silver Spring Stage is located in the Woodmoor Shopping Center, lower level (next to the CVS) at Colesville Road and University Boulevard. Ticket prices are $20 for adults and $18 for seniors/students. Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8:00 PM and Sundays at 2:00 PM. Tickets can be purchased at www.ssstage.org. Information is also available by calling (301) 593-6036.

Silver Spring Stage is proud to present its annual showcase of short plays that cover the gamut in human emotions and relationships. For the first time, the Stage has three different types of weekends. The first offers a rarely performed play by Brian Friel, one of Ireland's finest playwrights. The second showcases new plays by playwrights from the Maryland, DC and Virginia area. The third is a tribute to the victims and their families and friends of the worst terrorist attack on the United States on September 11, 2001. One play reflects on the World Trade Center attack and the other on the Pentagon by a local playwright. The following is the list of plays by weekend:

Weekend One August 18-21: Irish Plays
Lovers: Winners by Brian Friel
Lovers: Losers by Brian Friel
