DIAL M FOR MURDER (Thriller)

Tony Wendice has married his wife, Margot, for her money and now plans to murder her for the same reason. After arranging the "perfect murder," he blackmails a scoundrel he used to know into strangling her, and designs a brilliant alibi for himself. After a terrifying twist of fate, a suspenseful Hitchcockian game of cat and mouse convenes until an inspector from Scotland Yard and the young man in love with the wife discover the truth.

PICNIC (Drama)

Winner of the 1953 Pulitzer Prize, and made into a film starring Kim Novak and William Holden, the play takes place on a Kansas Labor Day weekend in the joint backyards of two middle-aged widows, Flo Owens, who lives there with her two maturing daughters, and Helen Potts, who lives with her elderly and invalid mother. Along comes a mysterious young man whose animal vitality seriously upsets the entire group. Choices, temptations, and sacrifices lead to the prevailing message of "Picnic" that youth is a precious gift that must be savored instead of squandered.

Elvis Presley, The Drifters, Peggy Lee and the Coasters all scored their biggest hits with songs by Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Jerry Lieber and Mike Stoller, who gave us Hound Dog, Stand By Me, Under the Boardwalk and countless others.

Founded in 1974 as a Community Improvement Project of the Dunwoody Woman's Club, Stage Door Players proudly celebrates its 42nd season.
