Mary Brienza, Kathryn Markey and Leenya Rideout are so engrossed in their characters that it's sometimes hard to know where the talented actor-musicians end and their country and western characters begin. It's as if these three have been performing together as the sister trio "The Chalks" their entire lives. They've now set their sights on Atlanta for a hilarious musical holiday production on the Hertz Stage – Holidays with The Chalks.

Judeen, Judelle and Belva Chalk have spent a triple lifetime crisscrossing the USA singing the honky tonk harmonies that made them famous. But when Tubby's Bar and Grill goes up in flames after a particularly rowdy show, the Chalk sisters find themselves on 90 days of bus arrest in the parking lot. If Judelle stays sober, Belva stays dressed and Judeen stays one step ahead of the law, they just may get the tour bus rolling again in time for Christmas. But whatever happens, fans are in for a raucous evening of original music, irreverent comedy, and free baked goods. Some lucky fans may even find themselves onstage.

The musical precision of tight three part harmonies combines with the combustible nature of family dysfunction to create an evening where anything might happen. Holidays with The Chalks is a gift to anyone who loves country, loves spangles, and loves a boot stompin' good time.

Writing all their own songs, The Chalks offer country-music spoofing at its finest. Making their Atlanta debut, The Chalks will transform the Hertz stage into a classic honky tonk.

"It seemed like high time Atlanta got Chalk-ed, and I am delighted to be able to introduce Judeen, Judelle and Belva Chalk to Atlanta this December," said ALLIANCE THEATRE Artistic Director Susan V. Booth. "This trio's got big hair, big dreams, and a complicated enough back-story that only country western music could tell it right. And for my money, nothing says happy holidays quite like eggnog served in a cowboy boot."

Performances are Tuesday through Thursday at 7:30 pm, Fridays at 8:00 pm, Saturdays at 2:30 pm and 8:00 pm, and Sundays at 2:30 pm and 7:30 pm, November 30 – December 23, 2012, on the Hertz Stage.
