On April 4-9, the Berry College Theatre Company (BCTC) will perform William Shakespeare's The Tempest in Blackstone Hall on Berry College's campus.

Tickets for the show are $10 for adults, $5 for children, and $7 for seniors.

The Tempest takes place on a remote island, where sorcerer Prospera and daughter Miranda have been exiled after a malicious plot by Prospera's sister Antonia. Driven by a lust for revenge, Prospera attempts to regain her throne using illusion and skillful manipulation. However, she soon must choose between punishing those who have hurt her and allowing the happiness of the one she loves.

While Shakespeare's original work of The Tempest featured only one woman, BCTC will feature 12.

"This is lovely in that the good and the harm is all by women." said director Anna Filippo. "And I think it's just as powerful and poignant and probably works as well for our audiences as it did with males in the 17th century."

The show will be performed at 7:30 PM on Tuesday-Saturday and 2:00PM on Sunday.
