Join Aurora Theatre for what has become a Gwinnett Columbus Day tradition.

Different from most golf tournaments, this tournament focuses on the wackier side of golf with unconventionally themed holes. Among them are a Heckle Hole, Tequila Shot Hole, Karaoke Hole and a Crazy Costume Hole. Like most golf events, there will be prizes for the Longest Drive, Closest to Pin, Hole-in-One Contests and more. After hitting the links at beautiful Northwood Country Club, guests enjoy a fabulous lunch and the opportunity to bid on valuable merchandise like Golf Outings and Theatre Tickets.

Aurora Theatre Charity Golf Tournament-Support Desperately Needed

At a time when many non-profits are reducing their services, Aurora Theatre continues to expand efforts to serve the community. The theatre attracts 60,000 annual visitors, the signature series of 6 plays known as the Metro Waterproofing Mainstage Season attracted 34,000 of those visitors. The series of Broadway-style entertainment is what Aurora Theatre is most known for by the general public. However, the theatre has a myriad of programs, although less well-known, which greatly benefit Gwinnett’s families with children.

Classes at Aurora Academy give students important life skills that will enable them to be future leaders and mold them into well-rounded individuals. This past summer, Aurora Theatre awarded nearly $15,000 in scholarships for students to attend summer camp.

The celebrated Learning Library Educational Play Series provides low cost, high quality educational shows for school field trips. With last year’s grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, the program was expanded to serve upper elementary and middle school students.

Aurora Children’s Playhouse features the Southeast’s best children’s performers at times convenient for families with young children. These performances are offered to the public at a very low cost to ensure ALL families will have access to this great program.

Aurora Theatre’s New Musical Initiative is already a huge success. Last season’s Clyde ’n Bonnie: A Folktale brought together four Broadway legends working side by side. The show has been nominated for a staggering 15 Suzi Bass Award nominations, the most of any production produced by a professional there in the Atlanta region.

Not many folks realize that Aurora Theatre produces two of Gwinnett’s most successful tourist attractions: Terror on the Trail at Sims Lake Park in Suwanee and Lawrenceville GA Ghost Tours which operates six months out of the year with over 50 tours in October.

These valuable programs are worthy of support and what could be a more enjoyable way to provide support than spending a holiday Monday at one of Gwinnett’s most picturesque golf courses. Aurora Theatre is inextricably linked to this community, and could not do as much as it does without fundraisers like the Aurora Theatre Charity Golf Tournament.
