Wintersleep to Play at Brooklyn's Knitting Factory on June 19th

The Novia-Scotia based band, Wintersleep is preparing to take Williamsburg, Brooklyn by storm. The gig on Tuesday, June 19th, 2012 will have doors at 7:30 PM and will begin at 8:30 PM at the Knitting Factory Brooklyn, 361 Metropolitan Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11211.

The Canadian band was born in 2001. Initially, they were part of the Nova Scotia label and artists' collective Dependent Music, which released their first two albums, 2003's Wintersleep and 2005's untitled full-length, as the band was just getting rolling. Their initial bassist, Jud Haynes left the band in 2007, but was quickly replaced when the band found Mike Bigelow.

Paul Murphy (vocals and guitar), Tim D'Eon (guitar and keyboards), Mike Bigelow (bass), Jon Samuel (keyboards), and Loel Campbell (drums) will be making their only stop in New York at Brooklyn’s Knitting Factory. With their new album, “Hello Hum,” the 2008 Juno Award nominees will be delivering new material like their latest single, “In Came the Flood” and old favorites like “Weighty,” off of 2007’s “Welcome to the Night Sky.”

Openers for the night will include Jeff Beam and Soft Bullets.
