Tony Award-winning actor Victoria Clark will be Pace School of Performing Arts' third artist-in-residence in Musical Theater. The Artist-in-Residence program is made possible through an anonymous endowed gift.

Within the musical theater program, the acclaimed actress and director will teach 12 classes throughout the course of the 2014-15 academic year, as well as a variety of master classes. Clark will direct the School of Performing Arts' production of The Light in the Piazza as well as give a public master class in spring 2015.

Amy Rogers, director of the Pace School of Performing Arts Musical Theater program, said, "In addition to being one of the most gifted actors of this generation, Vicki is an inspired and thrilling teacher. She is a devoted mentor and a truly magical director and I could not be more thrilled to have such a remarkable woman as our Artist-in-Residence this year."

Pace School of Performing Arts, including its Musical Theater major, is housed within Pace's Dyson College of Arts and Sciences.

"Through the generosity of our donors we are able to take full advantage of the richness of our New York City location and bring world-renowned talent to our campus several times over the course of the academic year, giving our students unique opportunities to interact with leading professionals," said Dyson College Dean Nira Herrmann.

Victoria Clark maintains a diverse performing career, equally at home in plays, musicals, film, television, and the concert stage. Clark received Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle awards, as well as a Drama League honor for her portrayal of Margaret Johnson in the critically acclaimed Craig Lucas-Adam Guettel musical The Light in the Piazza in 2005. In addition to her performing work, Clark is an instructor and stage director, teaching at universities and conservatories nationwide and abroad, including Harvard, Juilliard, Manhattan School of Music, and Yale University, her alma mater. She is on the Board of Directors for New York City Center and the Kurt Weill Foundation.
