Actor and performer Tyler B. Prinz is premiering his full-length autobiographical solo performance show, Mental Furniture, as part of the 2014 United Solo Theatre Festival in New York City, which runs from September 18 - November 23, 2014. Mental Furniture will play Friday, October 3, 2014 at 7:30 pm at Theatre Row in New York City.

Mental Furniture is a raw, hip, and contemporary show which dives into how past relationships transform from baggage to benchmarks in our personal journeys. It's a poignant look into modern gay culture, the loves we encounter, and the losses we sustain. Sprinkled with humor and facetious commentary, it will leave you wondering about what it truly means to "take a seat."

Prinz is a Chicago-based actor, performer, and writer and has been most recently seen performing Mental Furniture for 360 Youth Services, a Chicago-based transitional housing organization for LGBTQ young people. Prinz has also been seen performing his solo piece, Satisfaction, at The Public House Theatre in Chicago, as part of their monthly installment of Share-a-Show. Prinz holds his MFA in Performing Arts from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a BA in Theatre from Columbia College Chicago.

"Tyler's realness brings us back to the feelings and emotions of growing up and gives credit to the stories and personal histories that have influenced the people we are today. We encourage our young people to be present with this piece, considering how they can recognize their past and propel themselves forward into the future," - Carolyn Wahlskog, Transitional Housing Program Case Manager at 360 Youth Services.
