The Music Hall has announced five new shows to its already robust and diverse lineup for the 2015-2016 season.

"This month we are bringing New Orleans to Portsmouth" said Deputy Director of Programming Thérèse LaGamma. "Trombone Shorty will have you dancing in your seats with his blend of performance and improvisational jazz. Music Hall fan favorite, Glen David Andrews returns to the Loft this January with his mix of gospel, blues, and jazz. Also, don't miss up-and-comer, Rocky Dawuni, who will be at the Loft with his mix of reggae and afro-roots music."

The Phantom of the Opera (1925)

Wednesday, October 28 • 7pm at the Historic Theater

Tickets: $13 (No Passes)

Lon Chaney stars as the Phantom, in what is probably his most famous and certainly his most horrifying role. The story concerns a much-feared fiend who haunts the Paris Opera House. Lurking around the dank passages deep in the cellars of the theater, he secretly coaches soprano understudy Christine Daae (Mary Philbin) to be an opera star and 'arranges' for the lead singer to drop out of the production.

Ocean Frontiers II - Film and Panel Discussion about Ocean Sustainability Planning

Wednesday, November 4 • 7pm • Loft

The film is a captivating story of citizens coming together for the sea that brings you face to face with those crafting the nation's first multi-state ocean plan, promoting healthier economies and healthier seas across New England. A spotlight on Rhode Island reveals how the Ocean State is turning conflict into collaboration, inviting all on a more sustainable path of stewardship. Join us for the 45 minute film, followed by a panel discussion and Q&A featuring New England ocean planning experts, and help shape the future of our ocean. Presented in affiliation with Conservation Law Foundation, Green Fire Productions, Seacoast Science Center and Blue Ocean Society for Marine Conservation.

Rocky Dawuni

Ghanaian star straddles the musical boundaries between Africa, the Caribbean, and the US to create a sound that unites generations and cultures. Having appeared at many of the biggest World and Reggae music events, Dawuni has worked alongside Stevie Wonder, Peter Gabriel, Jason Mraz, Sharon Jones, Janelle Monae, John Legend as well as many others.

From making waves headlining the annual New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival to his regular gigs at iconic NOLA clubs, Glen David Andrews is part of New Orleans music royalty. Andrews' music has a presence and sweetness that has long endeared him to audiences and has made him a Music Hall favorite. Get ready for a night of gospel, blues, and jazz music that will transport you right to the Mardi Gras Parades. Don't miss this unforgettable night as Glen David Andrews returns to the Loft.

Intimately Yours: Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue

Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 7pm at the Historic Theater

New Orleans native Trombone Shorty began his career as a bandleader at the young age of six, toured internationally at age 12, and spent his teens playing with various brass bands throughout New Orleans and touring worldwide with Lenny Kravitz. He fronts Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, a funk/rock/jazz/hip-hop band.

In 2010, Trombone Shorty released his debut album, the Grammy-nominated "Backatown," followed by "For True" in 2011, which topped Billboard magazine's Contemporary Jazz Chart for 12 weeks. His newest album, "Say That to This," was released in 2013 and features funk/jazz elements of New Orleans.
