The 3rd Annual Houston Improv Festival (HIF) descends upon Houston April 24-27, 2014 at Midtown Art Center (3414 La Branch). HIF 2014 will host fifteen improvised acts from around the country, with show on Thursday, April 24, at 8pm and on Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26 at 8pm and 10pm.

The record-breaking 2013 Festival welcomed troupes from Houston, Austin, Chicago, Minneapolis and New York, including elite improvisers Jill Bernard (ComedySportz and Huge Theater - Minneapolis, MN), Joe Bill (Annoyance Theater and iO - Chicago, IL) and Chris Grace (People's Improv Theater - New York, NY).

Improv troupes may apply to perform at HIF 2014 via www.HoustonImprovFestival.com or through the National Improv Network atwww.nationalimprovnetwork.com. A non-refundable application fee of $20 must accompany all submissions. HIF will accept submissions November 1, 2013 through January 10, 2014. Troupes will be notified of their performance status by February 14, 2014.

The festival will offer a variety of workshops designed to accommodate all levels of improvisers. This year's featured guest performer and workshop instructor is Jet Eveleth of The Second City Conservatory Program and the iO Theater. Additional workshop instructors will be announced at a later date.
