Theatre Aspen's Board of Trustees will host an intimate panel discussion on November 8th, featuring distinguished leaders in the theatrical field. The event will be held in conjunction with the Colorado theatre's quarterly board meeting, being held for the first time in New York City. The event will be held at Ars Nova, a non-profit theatre known for developing exciting new artists, and is by invitation only.

The panelists include Broadway and television director Scott Ellis, Roundabout Artistic Director Todd Haimes, Broadway Producer and current Producing Director of the newly reopened Bucks County Playhouse, Jed Bernstein, Vicki Reiss, Executive Director of the Shubert Foundation, and Mary McColl, Actors' Equity Association Executive Director. The panel will be moderated by Theatre Aspen Artistic Director Paige Price.

The award-winning professional theatre is hosting a number of events this year to celebrate its 30th Anniversary season. Their summer repertory comprises plays, musicals and family fare in the brand new Hurst Theatre in Rio Grande Park. Theatre Aspen also produces and commissions new plays and offers year-round classes in theatre education.

Alumni of the recent seasons include Alison Luff (GHOST, Scandalous), Joan Hess (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), Beth Malone (Ring of Fire, Fun Home), Adrienne Warren (Bring It On) and Emmy, Golden Globe and Tony nominee Sandy Duncan, who was also nominated for a Denver Post Ovation Award for her performance in Becky's New Car.

The theatre recently received a grant from the Colorado Creative Industries, a state agency. Colorado Senator Mark Udall praised the grant. "The arts help communities across Colorado attract visitors and new residents who, in turn, patronize local businesses," Udall said. "These funds, in part from the National Endowment for the Arts, will boost local economies throughout Pitkin County and the Roaring Fork Valley."

Theatre productions in the Hurst Theatre were underwritten by season sponsor ANB Bank, with the generous support of The City of Aspen, Hays Private Client, Premier Health Alliance, Soledad and Bob Hurst, Mandy Gray and Randy Work, Dan and Maureen Holman, The Aspen Club and Spa and Les Dames d'Aspen.

Media sponsors include The Aspen Times, Aspen Daily News, Aspen Public Radio, KSPN/KNFO, KUUR/KSNO, Aspen Business Journal and Aspen Sojourner.
