The Iridium and The Morrison Hotel Gallery will partner Feb 24 & 25 to present two nights of music and imagery featuring first-call guitar master Danny Kortchmar--who played on seminal albums by Carole King, James Taylor, Warren Zevon, and Harry Nilsson--and rock photographer nonpareil Henry Diltz, who documented Kortchmar and many of the iconic artists he's performed with since the 1960's.

Each night will begin with a multimedia presentation by Diltz at 7:30pm focusing on the history of southern California rock in the 70's and highlighting Kortchmar's contributions. Kortchmar and special guests, including Paul Shaffer of The Late Show with David Letterman, will take the stage for two sets at 8:30pm and 10:30pm. The event is produced by Ron Sturm and Doug Yoel for The Iridium.

Aside from his considerable body of session work, Kortchmar is known for helming major releases in the 80's for Don Henley, Billy Joel, Jackson Browne, and Neil Young. He co-wrote numerous hits including "Dirty Laundry," "Somebody's Baby," and "All She Wants To Do Is Dance." Fresh off the worldwide 'Troubadour Reunion' tour with Taylor and King, Kortchmar makes his Iridium debut with an exciting new project focused on his remarkable career.

For over 40 years, Henry Diltz's work has graced hundreds of album covers and has been featured in books, magazines and newspapers. His unique artistic style has produced powerful photographic essays of Woodstock, The Monterey Pop Festival, The Doors, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Jimi Hendrix and scores of other legendary artists. Diltz continues his distinguished career, generating new and vibrant photographs that inspire the rock n' roll fan in everyone.
About The Iridium:
Deemed "hallowed ground" by iconic guitarist Steve Miller, The Iridium stage has played a part in launching the careers of countless artists, though it may now be known best as Les Paul's second home. The late guitarist performed at The Iridium weekly for more than 12 years until his passing in 2009. Today, the Les Paul trio continues on in his honor, performing Monday nights with guests that have included guitar gods like Steve Miller, Jeff Beck, and Zakk Wylde, as well as many others.
