Pill Hill Productions' THE FIERY SWORD OF JUSTICE, a cautionary tale about a high powered Public Relations executive whose compulsive truth telling costs her her job, has been chosen as an official selection of the 18th Annual New York International Fringe Festival - FringeNYC, A Production of The Present Company. Written and performed by Lauren Letellier, performances will run August 8th - 24th at the CSV Abrazo Inferno Gallery at 107 Suffolk St. 2nd floor. Kel Haney directs.

Set in the chaotic, high adrenaline atmosphere of a big-time NYC PR agency, THE FIERY SWORD OF JUSTICE is the harrowing and hilarious story of how childhood coping strategies learned in an alcoholic home can provide the skills needed to survive - and thrive - in corporate America. The comedy spotlights one businesswoman's unwelcome tendency to say out loud what everyone else is only thinking, leading to battles with Big Pharma, boozy bosses, and the fractured family fantasies that fueled her fight for Justice.

THE FIERY SWORD OF JUSTICE also takes a stab at a few Big Pharma business clichés, such as "Drugs are costly because research investments must be recouped" (not true), and "The pharmaceutical industry is in the business of saving lives" (the pharmaceutical industry is in the business of shareholder value).

Comically contrasting episodes from family life with corporate life, we see the parent who withholds love become the boss who withholds approval; competitive siblings become competitive coworkers, and the alcoholic parent with power over the child become the difficult client with power over the agency.

Lauren Letellier is an award-winning public relations veteran who spent almost 30 years at global PR and marketing communications agencies. The Fiery Sword of Justice was originally developed in Matt Hoverman's Go Solo Workshop. www.thefieryswordofjustice.com.

Kel Haney's recent directing credits include: Jonathan Caren's THE RECOMMENDATION (The Flea), Jessica Dickey's ROW AFTER ROW, Rachel Bonds' LITTLE ROCK (Williamstown Theatre Festival), Nathan Leigh & Kyle Jarrow's (book, music & lyrics) THE CONSEQUENCES (Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theatre) & Gardiner Comfort's YOU'RE NOT TOUGH (HERE, Dixon Place). Upcoming: Comfort/Haney's THE ELEPHANT IN EVERY ROOM I ENTER (LaMaMa), Zack Calhoon's FRIDAY NIGHT AT JIMMY'S (Rising Phoenix Rep) & James Christy's LIBERTY LIVE (Premiere Stages). www.kelhaney.com
