TEAMONFIRE, the new international collective based in Berlin, brings their latest work, STRIPPED, to The Tank Theater in New York City. Following an acclaimed production at The English Theater in Berlin, STRIPPED, written by UK-based, award-winning playwright Stephen Clark & directed by Berlin-based director Monika Gossmann, will run from September 11 - 20 at the theatre at 151 West 46th Street.

Sara Fay George & Timothy Hopfner play Emma & James in this familiar yet strikingly Modern & achingly realistic story of a relationship between a man & a woman navigating love in their early thirties. The play opens with them both in their respective solitude, getting ready for a blind date. As they prepare, they address the spectator, championing their cause while reflecting on their past, their fears & their hopes. By the time they meet, we - the audience - know a lot about them. This is not going to be your average love story.

"STRIPPED is a very explicit play, physically & emotionally, in which the characters, the nature of relationships & perhaps even ourselves are all stripped & then examined...with, openness, compassion & humor," says Clark. Clark wrote the book and lyrics for Zorro which opened at The Garrick in London & toured internationally. His next work, Love Story, which premiered in the West End in 2010, gave Clark his 4th Olivier Award nomination for Best Musical.

The collaboration on STRIPPED began two years ago when director & producer Monika Gossmann, who hails from the Moscow Art Theater, began to assemble Teamonfire. She began working with Australian Visual Director Claudia Maneka Maharaj, to create projections in collaboration with French photographer Jean Marc Caracci. "We truly were & still are, led by something that wants this project to be & stay alive. The team breaths like one organism in this project & this is what makes it so unique," says Gossmann.
