On Saturday & Sunday, February 20 & 21, Staten Island Children's Museum members are encouraged to visit our newest neighbor on the grounds of Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Gardens-the beautiful new Staten Island Museum!

Members of the Staten Island Museum are invited to visit and play at the Staten Island Children's Museum for free-and members of the Staten Island Children's Museum can visit and learn at the Staten Island Museum for free! Just show your membership card at the desk and enjoy BOTH museums this weekend! A highlight of the Reciprocal Member's Weekend is "David Bowie Day" at the Staten Island Children's Museum.

Saturday, February 20, celebrate all things Bowie! Enjoy activities inspired by the music and films of the late David Bowie, whose influence on our culture is celebrated and remembered. Children and parents are invited to:

  • Have their faces painted like Bowie
    11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • "Put on your red shoes and dance" at our Labyrinth Dance Party
    1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Make a space collage inspired by the song "Starman" in the Walk-In Workshop
    1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Read along to the illustrated "Space Oddity" during Storytime
    4 p.m.

The Staten Island Children's Museum is located on the grounds of Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Gardens, 1000 Richmond Terrace, Staten Island, NY 10301. The Museum is open Tuesday through Friday, 11 am to 5 pm during the school year; 10 am to 5 pm weekends, summers and most public school holidays. The Staten Island Children's Museum is housed in a building owned by the City of New York and its operation is made possible, in part, with public funds provided through the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs with support from the Staten Island delegation to the NYC Council and the Staten Island Borough President.
