"All Hail! The Red, Orange, and Pale!" From the UK to Canada, audiences have lined up to join Shawn Hitchins and his Ginger Nation. Having debuted at Edinburgh to standing-room-only houses and unprecedented media coverage, the redheaded comedian ventures to New York with his irreverent story of would-be fatherhood.

Hitchins' fiery account as a sperm donor to a lesbian couple is hilarious and profane. On his personal mission to repopulate the earth with redheads, Hitchins recounts memories from adolescence, brushes with celebrity, feats of masturbation, and discovers what it means to be ginger and proud. Ginger Nation asks the immediate question, "How do gay men have a biological child?" in a frank examination of the capacities of the modern family. 'A polished entertainer' Hitchins bravely leads his audiences from roaring laughter to the brink of tears and back in this roller coaster performance.

Ginger Nation comes to New York direct from winning the top audience prize at the 25th Atlantic Fringe Festival (Halifax). Hitchins was recently featured on CBC's q (Canada's premiere arts and culture program) and is currently writing a debut book of comedic essays (ECW Press 2017).

SHAWN HITCHINS: GINGER NATION LIVE AT THE DUPLEX is set for November 7, 4:30 PM at The Duplex Cabaret Theater, located at 61 Christopher St @ 7th Ave. $10 (ADV)/$15(ATD) + 2 Drink Minimum. Call 212-255-5438 or visit www.jointhegingernation.com for more information.
