Servant Stage Company will present The Civil War, on May 28, 2017, at Lititz Springs Park and on June 4 and 11 at The Winter Visual Arts Center on the campus of Millersville University.

Drawing on letters, diaries, first-hand accounts and the words of Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass, and Walt Whitman, The Civil War is a thrilling and awe-inspiring "dramatic theatrical concert." This epic thematic revue puts a human face on one of the greatest tragedies of American history and explores the experiences of the soldiers and leaders who fought for their way of life. It also examines the lives of the lovers and families they left behind, as well as the hopes and fears of the slaves whose freedom was at stake.

The production is Servant Stage's largest production to date, featuring a cast of 28 performers led by Servant Stage Company Artistic Director Wally Calderon.

"Because The Civil War is such an epic musical with so many challenging demands, it's not often you get a chance to see it produced," says Calderon. "But it is an incredible show with beautiful music and a powerful story so we are honored to be able to bring this production to Lancaster County with such a talented cast."

Cast members include Brittany Adair Beitzel, Carl Anderson, Stephen Baker, Japheal Bondurant, Nathan Cooney, Jacob Daniel Cummings, Briana Franklin, Daniel Gorham, Joshua William Green, Lindsey Aeriel Grimble, Joshua Harnish, Ray Hilton, Nicole Horton, CasSandra Johnson, Joshua Keefer, Paul Marini, Jonah M. Martin, Justin Mazzella, Kat Prickett, Terron Quailes, Amber Renae, Lisa Stewart, MIna Thomas, Holly Wert, Matthew Wilhelm, Wes Wise, Jenny Wolcott and Sarah Zahn.

"The vocals are stunning and the story will hit the heart hard," says cast member Lindsey Aeriel Grimble, originally of Springfield, Illinois. "To bring performers together from all over Lancaster County to tell this incredible story is powerful!"

Servant Stage Company will present The Civil War on Sunday, May 28 at Lititz Springs Park at 2:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. (non-ticketed, outdoor event); and Sundays, June 4 and 11 at Millersville University's Winter Center at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. These are pay-what-you-will and tickets are required.
