Speak Your Truth has announced its first fundraising event, Journey Beyond Your Limits, an art exhibit and benefit. Speak Your Truth supports artists that have overcome adversity. Journey Beyond Your Limits will feature the art of Christina Thomas, Jae Quinlan and Sagine Cave'. There will be Spoken Word performances by Shye Sales, Amber Atiya and MEWZ. Proceeds will be donated to agencies that support victims of sexual assault and aid in sexual assault awareness. These services had a direct impact on Christina Thomas, the co founder of Speak Your Truth. As a survivor of sexual assault these services were invaluable in her recovery process. Journey Beyond Your Limits is about finding your voice among difficult circumstances and moving beyond your limits. This show is a declaration to speak your truth. Speak Your Truth / Affordable Art For The Soul represents artists that have experienced adversity and gives them a voice.
The record breaking, award-winning Off-Broadway play Tribes will end its monumental run, playing its final performance this evening, January 20, 2013 at the Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street) after 19 preview and 365 regular performances. The celebrated West Village theater will next be home to the New York Premiere of Ike Holter's Hit the Wall, which begins previews on February 19, 2013, with an official opening night set for March 10, 2013.
