Part of the BBC Proms 2012 series from Royal Albert Hall in London, John Wilson conducted the John Wilson Orchestra and Maida Vale Singers in MAME by Jerry Herman, with featured soloists Sierra Boggess, Anna-Jane Casey, Rodney Earl Clarke, Elizabeth Llewellyn, Seth MacFarlane and Julian Ovenden. Watch a video of the performance below!

After last year’s celebration of the Hollywood screen musical, John Wilson and his high-octane orchestra presented a tribute to the composers and arrangers responsible for creating the Broadway Sound—among them such legendary tunesmiths as Jerome Kern, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Vincent Youmans, Richard Rodgers and Frank Loesser.

The concert included excerpts from Show Boat, No, No, Nanette, On Your Toes, Kiss Me, Kate and Annie Get Your Gun. It was broadcast live on BBC Radio 3. For full details, program notes and more, click here.

Sierra Boggess will be featured on the upcoming Rodgers & Hammerstein At The Movies CD with The John Wilson Orchestra, singing "I Have Confidence" from THE SOUND OF MUSIC. The CD is set for release in October. Plus, MacFarlane will appear on The John Wilson Orchestra's upcoming recording "That’s Entertainment: A Celebration of the MGM Film Musical," set for release in September of this year.
