Director, Choreographer, and Founder of revolutionary StageWrite App, Jeff Whiting, was invited to give a TEDTalk at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario on February 7, 2016 for their TEDx Conference, "Uncharted".

The video was just released of Whiting's TedTalk "Rising Beyond Limits with Open Jar Thinking," which details his personal journey to Broadway: meeting the challenges of the industry, overcoming the obstacles along the way, and his endeavor to create what has become a revolutionary software tool - StageWrite Software - with what he calls 'Open Jar Thinking'.

This TedTalk has already been acclaimed as 'one of the best TEDTalks of all time' and is filled with insight and inspiration for everyone in and out of the theatre industry. From his beginnings as an actor playing Quasimodo in Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame to directing and choreographing new musicals headed to Broadway, Whiting shares his theory of 'Open Jar Thinking' that he utilizes in his work as a director and shares remarkable examples of how the power of theatre has proven to transform lives around the globe.

"It was a real honor to be invited to be a part of TEDTalk," Whiting says. "The collective ideas that are shared in these events are truly inspiring and I was grateful to share the lesson I learned from a tiny flea trapped in an open jar."

TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks. TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics.
