Rover Dramawerks will present the hilariously quirky comedy Wonder of the World by David Lindsay-Abaire at the Cox Building Playhouse, 1517 H Avenue in Plano. Performances are May 23 through June 15, with shows on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m., with an additional matinee performance on Saturday, June 1 at 2:00 p.m.

When Cass (played by Rae Harville) discovers a shockingly dirty little secret in her husband Kip's sweater drawer (Kip played by Michael Speck), our heroine has no choice but to flee to the honeymoon capital of the world in a frantic search for the life she thinks she's missed out on. It's a wild ride over Niagara Falls in a barrel of laughs as Cass embarks on a journey of self-discovery that has her crossing paths with a blithely suicidal alcoholic (Laura Warner), a lonely tour-boat captain (Billy Betsill), a pair of bickering private detectives (Alice Montgomery and Chris Hauge), a number of odd waiters (Caroline Dubberly, who also plays numerous other characters), and a strange caper involving a gargantuan jar of peanut butter, all of which pushes her perilously close to the water's edge in this hilarious tragicomedy of marital discord run amok. "Exceedingly whimsical and playfully wicked." - NY Times.

Mikey Abrams returns to Rover as director after directing the smash hit Murder at the Orient Burlesque and also designs the sound, with Colleen Carey as Stage Manager. Set design is by Jeff Mabray, with Tim Doyle as Master Carpenter. Lighting Design is by Ian Garland, costumes are by Suzi Cranford, and props are by Lindsey Humphries. Ashley H. White provides video elements.

Tickets for Wonder of the World are $16.00 on Thursdays and matinee and $20.00 on Fridays and Saturdays.Thursday, May 23 is Preview Night, and all seats are "pay-what-you-can." (Not recommended for very young children.)

Following the performances on Fridays, May 24, 31, June 7 and 14 at 10:30 p.m., Rover Late Night is pleased to present the Regional Premiere of DOCTOR U by Mike Brown and Logan Rogan, directed by Robbi Holman. This parody about everyone's favorite Doctor...or two, recently premiered in Salt Lake City at the Off-Broadway Theatre and enjoyed a very successful, sold-out run.
