Come join the party! Celebrate The Tank's 10th Anniversary with the live creation of art at the latest Artprov, honoring The Tank's decade of unlimited creation and exploration. Snacks and beverages will be provided by Qdoba before the show.

The Tank’s 10th Anniversary is not only cause for celebration but also an exploration of the values that will continue for another 10 years. At select anniversary events and donation drives through May 2013, The Tank will toast to its services of support, empowerment, opportunity and access for the New York City arts community.

Accessibility isn’t a privilege, it’s a starting point. For early career artists, it’s a curated, guided experience: a nurturing place to get your feet wet and find your audience. For the more experienced crafters, it’s a financially risk-free place to play, in a theater with a full light/sound/projection package. For audiences, it’s an economic alternative to the bright light ‘premium-seat’ attractions one block away. And with year-round, open submissions and no application or acceptance fees, this access is non-exclusive. The Tank has been open for business for 10 years and a tax deductible donation today will make it possible to remain an accessible resource for ten more.

Artprov & Tank 10th Anniversary Party is set for  Saturday, December 15th, 2012, at 151 W 46th Street (8th floor). Tickets: $7 online / $15 online + open Bar; $10 at the door / $20 at the door + open bar. Tickets: http://ow.ly/fCr2Q. Doors and pre-party at 7:00pm, show at 8:00pm. Artprov is a unique, hilarious and entertaining show that brings together different artistic mediums to inspire each other and create new works of art together. The Artprov cast of comics create improvised scense and musical base on the gallery of their guest artist's work, who, at the same time, creates a new painting, sculpture or piece based on the scenes based on their work: an artist circle of life. This edition of Artprov will be hosted by Rory Scholl and feature live art by Ari Lankin.

Known for painting in the studio, on location, and at live events, painting is truly an extension of Ari Lankin’s lifestyle. His painting styles range from conceptual abstraction to hyperrealism. Lankin collaborates in a wide variety of projects including design: apparel, film, performance, curation, and street art. Two of his most notable collaborations are that he designed a shoe for Adidas and he assisted Tino Sehgal during his solo show at the Guggenheim. Lankin lives in Manhattan, where he has had his current studio in East Harlem for the past five years, and is currently an educator at the Guggenheim Museum once a week.

Founded in 2003, The Tank is a Manhattan based non-profit arts presenter. Curating across all disciplines, The Tank provides an artistic home to both new and established artists who are engaged in the pursuit of new ideas. Combining free performance space, subsidized rehearsal space, discounted ticket prices and promotional support; the Tank brings quality programming to a new generation of audience for live performance, civic discourse, and the work of emerging artists.
