among the stars taking part in the 2006 Sundance Institute Theatre
Laboratory, which will take place at the Sundance Resort in Utah from
July 10-30.

Larsen, Piter Marek, Kelly McCreary, Chris Messina, Jennifer Mudge,
Novella Nelson, Toi Perkins, Gareth Saxe, Tregoney Shepherd, and
Price Waldman will also take part in the event, which develops plays
and musicals.
The plays that will be workshopped are the improvisational solo show
Citizen Josh, by Josh Kornbluth, directed by David Dower
; Current
Body, a modern adaptation of
The Odyssey, by Melissa James Gibson,
directed by Daniel Aukin;
Geometry of Fire, a political drama by
Stephen Belber, directed by Lucie Tiberghien;
The Evildoers, a dark
romantic comedy by David Adjmi, directed by Rebecca Taichman;
And
Jesus Moonwalks the Mississippi, by Marcus Gardley, a retelling of the
Demeter myth set during the Civil War and directed by Matt August; the
film-based musical
Kind Hearts and Coronets, book by Robert L.
Freedman, music by Steven Lutvak, lyrics by Robert L. Freedman and
Steven Lutvak, directed by Ron Lagomarsino; and
Steve and Idi, a drama
by
David Grimm, directed by Eleanor Holdridge.
Playwright-in-residence Tanya Barfield will be in attendance to work
on her drama
Equal Measure, which "juxtaposes the storylines of
President
Woodrow Wilson and Jade Kingston, an African-American civil
servant working in the White House."
