The cast and creative team of Broadway's THE BOOK OF MORMON chatted with Broadway Beat at the opening night after party on March 24. There, they caught up with Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells who star as the quirky leading duo Elder Cunningham and Elder Price.

On what to expect from the show, Rannells commented: "I love that this show is obviously the brand of humor that Bobby Lopez and Trey Parker and Matt Stone have established. It's a hilarious and irreverent comedy, but they also have managed to work in a very sweet story, which I'm very proud of and I thnk they're very proud of."

Gad added, "My favorite thing about the musical is how pro-faith the final message actually is, and how people go along for this hysterical ride, but at the same time seem to be moved by some of the content as well. It's amazing to watch audiences get choked up. I never thought that would happen!"

As for the audiences' reponses to THE BOOK OF MORMON Rannells said, "I just love that people come expecting to be shocked and ammused, and hopefully they also leave very moved by the story- it's got a lot of heart."
