The 2006 Joe A. Callaway Award will be presented to Lily Rabe and Michael Stuhlbarg on January 5th.

In addition to the engraved plaques, Rabe and Stuhlbarg will receive checks for $1,000.  With winners chosen by a panel of respected journalists, the Callaway Award honors actors performing in professional productions of classic plays written before 1920.

Rabe was honored for her performance as feisty Ellie Dunn in the Roundabout Theatre Company's revival of George Bernard Shaw's Heartbreak House, and Stuhlbarg was selected for his work in the current Atlantic Theater Company revival of Harley Granville-Barker's The Voysey Inheritance, adapted by David Mamet.

Rabe has been seen on Broadway in Steel Magnolias and in Off-Broadway's Colder Than Here.  She has also appeared on screen in Mona Lisa Smile.

A Tony-nominee and Drama Desk Award-winner for his performance in The Pillowman, Stuhlbarg has also been seen Off-Broadway in Measure for Pleasure, Belle Epoque, The Mysteries, Twelfth Night and more.
