The Producer's Group is no more--at least not in its previous state. Partner Michael Frazier's retirement has resulted in its absorption into motion picture and television production company Lang Syne Films, Inc. Ned Stuart will be the new head of the theatre producing organization.

Having included such accomplished Broadway and off-Broadway producers as Frazier, Roger Berlind, Joan Cullman and Stuart Thompson, The Producer's Group received many Tonys and Drama Desk Awards during its 45-year span. Among its litany of producing credits are: Art, Lena Horne - A Woman and Her Music, Amy's View, Eating Raoul, the 1996 revival of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and Nunsense. Their most recent Broadway production was The Play What I Wrote, a witty burlesque that featured a celebrity guest star each performance. The play was nominated for a 2003 Tony for Best Special Theatrical Event.

While Lang Syne film specializes in feature film production, the Producer's Group will most likely continue in the production of big-budget Broadway musicals under Stuart.

The Producer's Group/Lang Syne Films, Inc. has partnered with Universal Studio's Whiteacre Productions for a package deal of up to 30 first-run feature films. Past Lang Syne Films, Inc. credits include the films Jaws 2, The Cannonball Run, Love Story, The Out-of-Towners and Evita.
