Photo Flash: First Look at THE HURRICANE at FringeNYC

In the new musical comedy The Hurricane, composer, lyricist and book writer Bjorn Berkhout has reimagined Shakespeare's The Tempest set on Fire Island. Scroll down for a first look at the cast in action at FringeNYC!

Themes of betrayal, revenge and sexual politics mix with an ambitious and atmospheric score. The role of Prospero has been transformed into Madam Sparrow, the mysterious owner of an inn who commands a magical monkey paw to conjure a storm and lay a trap on four unsuspecting men from her past. Taryn Turney directs.

The cast of The Hurricane features Mykel Vaughn, Laura Sudduth, Spencer Glass, Bryce Henry, Warren G. Nolan Jr.* (Rent - national tour), Jay Aubrey Jones* (Broadway credits include How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and Cats), Robert Ackerman, and Ryan Rhue. The creative team includes Anna Grace Carter (Costume and Prop Design), Jasmine Nicole Roberts (Set Design), Dan Jobbins (Lighting Designer), Egypt Dixon (Stage Manager), Lauren Eitelmann (Assistant Stage Manager), Alyssa Van Gorder (Production Manager), Jeremy Robin Lyons (Music Director) and Wiley Deweese (Co-Music Director and Pianist). *Appearing courtesy of Actors Equity Association

Performances are part of the 18th annual New York International Fringe Festival - FringeNYC at VENUE #7: Theatre 80 at 80 St. Marks Place. Performances: 8/9 at 1:00, 8/10 at 9:45, 8/16 at 3:45, 8/21at 4:45, and 8/23 at 7:00 (all performances are PM).
