Page 73 Announces 2014 Development Programs Workshop
Page 73 Productions, which is currently accepting applications on its website (www.page73.org/apply) for three of its signature development programs: the P73 Playwriting Fellowship, the Interstate 73 writers group, and the Page 73 Summer Residency at Yale, will host an information session with its Executive Director Liz Jones and its Associate Director Michael Walkup for interested applicants on Thursday, March 21st at 7pm at the Manhattan Theatre Club Rehearsal Studios (311 West 43rd Street, 8th Floor). Reservations are required; please email firstname.lastname@example.org to inquire about a reservation.
The P73 Playwriting Fellowship is presented to one playwright each year and given artistic and professional development support, as well as a cash grant of $10,000. Interstate 73 is a year-long writers group for six to eight early-career playwrights; each member receives a reading over the course of the year. The Page 73 Summer Residency at Yale offers weeklong writing retreats or workshops for four playwrights.
The playwrights selected for the 2013 Interstate 73 writers group and the 2013 P73 Playwriting Fellow were recently announced, they are Stephen Brown, Meghan Deans, Peter Gil-Sheridan, David Jenkins, Kait Kerrigan, EM Lewis and Caroline V. McGraw (who was also selected as the 2013 P73 Playwriting Fellow).
The move to an online application was implemented to make it easier and less-expensive for playwrights to submit materials, reduce the environmental impact of the selection process, and to respond to the growing number of submissions received each year. Page 73 received 330 applications for its 2013 development programs, the most in the company's history.
PAGE 73 Productions - under the leadership of Executive Directors Liz Jones and Asher Richelli and Associate Director Michael Walkup - develops and produces the work of early-career playwrights who have yet to have their work professionally produced in New York.
