Harlem Stage to Present 2023 Edition of E-MOVES in April

Harlem Stage will present the 2023 edition of E-Moves, the institution’s signature dance series, which for more than 20 years has convened choreographers, dancers, artists, and musicians of color in an exploration of movement and message.

Meany Center's Creative Fellowships Initiative Announces Full Roster

The University of Washington has announced the complete roster of artists who have been selected as Creative Research Fellows as part of its first three-year Creative Fellowships Initiative. Funded by a $750,000 grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the interdisciplinary initiative will advance the field of performing arts by supporting artists in the development of new works and by integrating the performing arts disciplines into a broader context academically, artistically, and socially.

Rivendell Announces Casting And Opening Date For SCIENTIFIC METHOD

Rivendell Theatre Ensemble (RTE), Chicago's only Equity theatre dedicated to producing new work with women at the core, presents the World Premiere of Scientific Method by Jenny Connell Davis, directed by Devon de Mayo, and featuring RTE Member Ashley Neal, with Glenn Obrero, Josh Odor, Courtney Williams and Carmen Roman. Scientific Method runs October 19 - December 2, 2018, at Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, 5779 N. Ridge Avenue in Chicago.  The press opening is Tuesday October 30, 2018 at 7:00pm.

Jomama Jones' BLACK LIGHT Returns to New York This Fall

Producer Diana DiMenna (The Great Comet, Three Tall Women) is proud to announce that The Public Theater production of Black Light will return to New York this fall for a limited engagement at the Greenwich House Theater (27 Barrow Street). Performances will begin September 24 and run through December 31, with an opening night of October 10.

Black Light is a moving, music-laden work - a revival of sorts - for turbulent times. Created by Jones, the show features original music by Jomama, Laura Jean Anderson, Bobby Halvorson, Dylan Meek and Josh Quat with music direction by Samora Abayomi Pinderhughes. Performances begin Monday, February 12 and run through Sunday, March 25, with an official press opening on Sunday, February 25.
