PIPPIN's producers Barry and Fran Weissler revealed to the press during tonight's Tony Awards ceremony that they are working on a musical adaptation of the 2007 film Waitress, to be directed by Tony winner Diane Paulus (Pippin) with a score by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel and pop singer Sara Bareilles.

In Adrienne Shelly's 2007 film Waitress, "Jenna is a pregnant, unhappily married waitress in the deep south. She meets a newcomer to her town and falls into an unlikely relationship as a last attempt at happiness." The movie starred Keri Russell and Nathan Fillion.

The Weisslers will also be bringing David Farr's THE HEART OF ROBIN HOOD to American Repertory Theatre, directed by Gisli Örn Gardarsson. The show will begin performances in December 2013 at the Loeb Drama Center.

The now Tony-winning revival of PIPPIN, helmed by Paulus, also made its pre-Broadway debut at A.R.T.
