In one of his final public appearances this side of the pond before he ventures to London to film MARY POPPINS RETURNS, Lin-Manuel Miranda took the stage at the United Palace of Cultural Arts this afternoon to unveil the theater's new projector and sound system, and introduce a screening of the original MARY POPPINS movie.

Miranda has personal connections to both the event and the theater, which resides in his home neighborhood of Washington Heights. The Broadway star not only donated $100,000 to the Palace to help cover costs toward the new systems, he's also helping launch the theater's newest fundraising campaign, Reawaken Wonder at a Timeless Movie Palace, which will aid in the further updating of the sound system, as well as help the theater complete the rebirth of and renovations of the space.

Staff from The Palace, as well as many of the event's attendees took to social media to share photos and tweets of the heartwarming event, and you can see them below!
