The China Arts and Entertainment Group (CAEG) will represent nine national performing arts companies, directly affiliated with China's Ministry of Culture, at the 60th Annual APAP (Association of Performing Arts Presenters) conference this week, January 6 - 10, 2017, in New York City.

CAEG will be promoting the work of these companies with the intention of arranging productions at performing arts venues in the United States. CAEG will be located at booth #2307 in Americas Hall II during the conference.

CAEG will highlight the following companies at APAP 2017:

- National Ballet of China

- China National Opera and Dance Drama Theatre

- China Oriental Performing Arts Group

- China National Traditional Orchestra

- China National Symphony Orchestra

- China National Peking Opera Company

- China National Opera House

- China National Theatre for Children

- National Theatre of China

Each of these companies will be promoting specific works of Chinese drama, dance, opera, or theatre for production in the United States. One of CAEG's chief goals in showcasing the work of these nine national performing arts companies in the United States is the promotion of global, intercultural understanding and the exchange of art and ideas.

"CAEG is delighted to be back at APAP in New York City this year," said Mr. Wang Xiuqin, Director of Cultural Exchanges Division, CAEG. "Our goal is to share with the world the great works produced and performed by these wonderful Chinese companies, and to build bridges between international cultures through the unique and transformative power of the performing arts. We look forward to future productions from these companies in America and around the globe."

CHINA ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT GROUP (CAEG) is the first large state-owned cultural enterprise in China. It was founded in 2004 based on the merger of the China Performing Arts Agency (CPAA) and the China International Exhibition Agency (CIEA). With a history of more than 50 years, CPAA and CIEA have gained international acclaim by undertaking thousands of governmental cultural exchange projects and commercial stage performances and arts exhibitions both at home and abroad. Such productions as the opera Turandot on its original site in the Forbidden City of Beijing, Shaolin Warriors, ERA-Intersection with Time, and the Chinese language version of classic musicals Mamma Mia and Cats, win great success in market benefits as well as brand establishment. Serving as a bridge of cultural exchanges between China and other countries, CAEG has established and maintained a wide and solid cooperation with world-renowned cultural institutions, galleries, museums as well as famed cultural companies, performing arts troupes and individual artists. Each year, thousands of shows, exhibitions and other cultural activities are presented in hundreds of cities in dozens of countries and regions attracting audiences of over 10 million annually.
