Nielsen & Ocasio Complete BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON Cast; Rehearsals Begin

The Public Theater, Jeffrey Richards and Jerry Frankel, producers of BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON, are pleased to welcome Drama League, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle nominee Kristine Nielsen (Spring Awakening, Les Liasons Dangereuses, Why Torture is Wrong, Betty's Summer Vacation) and CAMERON OCASIO to the Broadway company.

Rehearsals for Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson begin today, August 31st.

This completes principal casting for the Broadway production.

In BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON, rising star Benjamin Walker reprises his role as America's first political maverick. A.J. kicked British butt, shafted the Indians and smacked down the Spaniards all in the name of these United States-who cares if he didn't have permission? An exhilarating and white-knuckled look at one of our nation's founding rock stars, BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON recreates and reinvents the life of "Old Hickory," from his humble beginnings on the Tennessee frontier to his days as our seventh Commander-in-Chief. It also asks the question, is wanting to have a beer with someone reason enough to elect him? What if he's really, really hot?

BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON will begin performances on Broadway at the Bernard Jacobs Theatre (242 W. 45th Street) on September 20, 2010 and officially open on October 13, 2010.
