Beat by Beat Press announced this week that its original children's musical GIANTS IN THE SKY is now available for licensing. Beginning today, schools and community theaters can request a free perusal script and apply for production rights at www.bbbpress.com.

GIANTS IN THE SKY adds to Beat by Beat's growing catalogue of award-winning, contemporary musicals written for elementary to middle school age performers. Since launching in 2011, Beat by Beat has become the fastest growing publisher of new children's musicals outside the typical fairytale catalogue with over 1,500 productions licensed all over the U.S. and in 60 countries around the globe.

This original musical written specifically for young actors explores the world of Giants who live above the clouds. Ever since they left Earth a long time ago, the Giants have made a life up above where their job is to keep the sky beautiful. They polish the stars, poke the clouds to let it rain and paint the sunsets. But there is one curious Giant who wonders what life is like on Earth, so she steals a key to the locked up "beanstalk" and embarks on an adventure down below.

"My collaborator and I were fascinated by the common myth of Giants living above the clouds", stated Denver Casado, composer of the show. "We began to wonder - how'd they get up there? What do the giants do all day? What would it be like to have never set foot on solid ground?"

The show is 60-minutes long and features 23 speaking and singing roles plus a flexible ensemble. Like every Beat by Beat musical, the majority of characters are gender-neutral allowing it to be performed by a variety of drama groups. In a market saturated by fairytale adaptations, the show offers a refreshing option for schools and theaters looking to bring new stories and characters to their communities.

Beat by Beat has attracted thousands of theaters to its unique online publishing platform. Available for free, its ePerusals let directors instantly read and listen to entire shows in a single multimedia PDF file. After purchasing a show, customers receive the production materials in the same day via digital download. Over 75,000 drama teachers and directors visit the website each month.

The production materials include a director's guide with tips from casting to costumes, professionally orchestrated accompaniment tracks the actors can perform along with, a license to make unlimited copies of all the materials for the duration of the production, plus permission to video record and upload without worry of copyright infringement.

GIANTS IN THE SKY has music and lyrics by Denver Casado, and book and lyrics by Kerry Kazmierowicztrimm.
