In an interview to be featured in the April issue of Out Magazine, Neil Patrick Harris opens up about his upcoming Broadway Turn in Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

The actor, who will take on the role of a flamboyant transgender punk rocker, admits that The Challenge has pushed him outside of his comfort zone. "Hedwig is bringing up a lot of super insecure things within me," he shares. "I have never thought drag was intoxicating, I've never had a fun drunken Halloween in drag, never been in heels, really."

He continues, "I've lived my whole life being attracted by masculinity - it's why I like guys. I'm not a super effete person, and I have to Turn into that, and in doing so it brings up a lot of homophobic insecurities within myself."

Harris, who in recent years has taken on duties as host of both the Tony Awards and the Emmy Awards, recently wrapped his long-running comedy 'How I Met Your Mother' in which he played reformed womanizer Barney Stinson for nine seasons.
