Tony Award-winning vocalist Idina Menzel will perform one night only with the Nashville Symphony on Tuesday, June 7, at 8 p.m. Best known for her roles in the Broadway musicals Wicked and Rent, she'll sing a diverse selection of classic pop and musical theater favorites, as well as songs from her recent album I Stand.

Menzel first came to public attention in 1996, when she made her debut as Maureen Johnson in Rent. Menzel has since starred in numerous Broadway productions, earning a Tony Award in 2004 for Best Leading Actress in a Musical, for her role as Elphaba in Wicked. Her film credits include Just a Kiss, Enchanted and Rent, in which she and five other original cast members reprised their stage roles.

Menzel recently appeared for President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama at A Broadway Celebration: In Performance at the White House, which aired on PBS last October. She also joined the cast of Glee, the highly popular Fox series about a group of high school kids who come together to sing as the underdog of glee clubs. Menzel plays the coach of rival glee club Vocal Adrenaline, McKinley High Glee Club's main competition. Last year, she concluded a national tour promoting her album, I Stand. A skillful songwriter, she writes and performs her own music.

Tickets are available to Nashville Symphony subscribers and Idina Menzel fan club members Friday, March 4, at 10 a.m. Tickets will go on sale to the public Friday, March 11, at 10 a.m.
