Dirty July, a new play by Kate Thomas, will be produced by Monsterpiece Theater Collective as part of New York Theater Festival's SUMMERFEST at The Hudson Guild Theater at 459 W. 26th Street on August 1st at 6:15PM, August 5th at 8:30PM, and August 6th at 1:00PM.

In Dirty July, two American co-eds go out to a popular bar in Tokyo to blow off steam, but by morning, one is found murdered. As CID and FBI agents dig deep into the death of Rainey Mills, they discover her tragedy comes with a twist, and as everyone in her orbit slowly unravels, it is clear nothing is certain and no one is safe. Told through flashbacks and real-time, the show is directed by Anthony D. Pound and features the talents of Mia Gerachis, Afton Paige Welch, Danielle Gimbal, Jase Egan, Tony Jadus, Gerrit Thurston, and Aurea Tomeski.

Monsterpiece Theater Collective is a non-profit group of risk-taking artists working together to tell compelling stories imaginatively by creating, supporting, and producing each other's work in readings, workshops, and short run full productions. They specialize in kicking down closed doors and blowing up glass ceilings.

Tickets for Dirty July are $23 and can be purchased with cash at the door or online in advance at: http://newyorktheaterfestival.com/dirty-july/
