Marin Mazzie has just been announced as joining the cast of the upcoming Broadway production of ENRON, starring as VP Claudia Roe.

ENRON will begin previews on Broadway on April 8, 2010 at The Broadhurst Theatre (235 W. 44th St. between 8th and Broadway), in preparation for an April 27, 2010 opening. The upcoming Broadway production will star Norbert Leo Butz, Gregory Itzkin, Stephen Kunken, Noah Weisberg, Rightor Doyle, Ian Kahn, Mary Stewart Sullivan, Madisyn Shipman and January LaVoy.

Directed by Rupert Goold, ENRON will feature scenic and costume design by Anthony Ward, lighting by Mark Henderson, music and sound by Adam Cork, video and projection by Jon Driscoll and choreography by Scott Ambler.

Inspired by the real-life financial scandal of 2001, ENRON, which was commissioned by Headlong Theatre, premiered this past summer at the Minerva Theatre Chichester, and then moved for a six-week run at The Royal Court Theatre where it played through November 8, 2009. The play transferred to West End's Noel Coward Theatre in January 2010.

Critically acclaimed actress and singer, Marin Mazzie, has been heard in many of the country's major symphony halls, cabaret and concert venues, seen in some of the most memorable musicals on the Broadway stage, appeared in London's West End, and has released her first album, OPPOSITE YOU, with husband Jason Danieley.

Having most recently starred on Broadway and in London's West End as the Lady of the Lake in MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT, Marin received Tony and Drama Desk nominations and an Outer Critics Circle Award for her performance as Lilli/Katharine in the hit revival of KISS ME, KATE, and later received an Olivier Award nomination when she made her West End debut in the show. Other Broadway credits include: RAGTIME (Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics nominations), PASSION (Tony nomination), MAN OF LA MANCHA, INTO THE WOODS, BIG RIVER, and OUT OF THIS WORLD and KISMET (Encores!). Her Off-Broadway appearances comprise of: THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES, THE TROJAN WOMEN: A LOVE STORY, and THE WORLD GOES ROUND (also National Tour). Some of the Regional Theatres she has played are The Goodman Theatre, Arena Stage, The Denver Center, La Jolla Playhouse, Pasadena Playhouse, and Pittsburgh CLO.

Marin and her husband, Jason Danieley, have performed their cabaret/concert OPPOSITE YOU at Lincoln Center's American Songbook Series, Joe's Pub, the Cinegrill, and other venues nationally. She has done extensive concert work across the country from Carnegie Hall to the Hollywood Bowl under the batons of Michael Tilson Thomas, Marvin Hamlisch, Skitch Henderson, Keith Lockhart, Paul Gemignani, Peter Nero, Patrick Summers, John Mauceri, and Doc Severinson to name a few.

Marin played a recurring character on the CBS television sitcom STILL STANDING, with guest appearances on WITHOUT A TRACE (CBS), NUMB3RS (CBS), JAKE IN PROGRESS (ABC), STACKED (FOX), PRYOR OFFENSES (Showtime), and ONE LIFE TO LIVE (ABC). Her other televion appearances include many on Great Performances PBS: PASSION, MY FAVORITE BROADWAY: THE LEADING LADIES, and MY FAVORITE BROADWAY: THE LOVE SONGS, all on DVD, and also the long-running PBS series AN EVENING WITH THE POPS, the Boston Pops' tribute to Jerry Herman.

Cast recordings include: KISS ME, KATE (DRG), RAGTIME (RCA), PASSION (Angel), and OUT OF THIS WORLD (DRG), as well as recordings of the concerts MY FAVORITE BROADWAY: THE LEADING LADIES, and MY FAVORITE BROADWAY: THE LOVE SONGS (Hybrid). Compilation albums include: Jule Styne IN HOLLYWOOD (PS Classics), BROADWAY DIVAS (RCA), THE Stephen Schwartz ALBUM (Varese Saraband), and John Adams' opera I WAS LOOKING AT THE CEILING AND THEN I SAW THE SKY (Nonesuch). The OPPOSITE YOU album was recorded with Jason on PS CLASSICS and released to critical and popular acclaim in the Fall of 2005.

Marin holds an honorary doctorate and has a musical theater scholarship in her name from her alma mater, Western Michigan University.
