Marian Seldes to Go 'Downstage Center,' June 8

The American Theatre Wing and XM Satellite Radio will present an interview with Tony Award-winner Marian Seldes on their weekly theatrical interview show, "Downstage Center," on XM's On Broadway (XM Channel 28).

Seldes will appear as the special guest on Friday, June 8 at 6 p.m. The show will repeat on Saturday, June 9 at noon, Sunday, June 10 at 7 p.m., and Wednesday, June 13 at midnight.  The program becomes available as streaming audio and podcast from www.americantheatrewing.org beginning Monday afternoon, June 11.

 

Now appearing on Broadway in Deuce, Marian Seldes recently appeared at Primary Stages in Terrence McNally's Dedication, or the Stuff of Dreams. Her many Broadway credits include 45 Seconds From Broadway, Deathtrap (Tony nomination), Equus, Father's Day (Tony nomination, Drama Desk Award), Before You Go, A Delicate Balance (Tony Award), Tiny Alice, A Gift of Time, The Wall, The Chalk Garden, The High Ground, Crime and Punishment, and Medea. For Lincoln Center Theater, she has appeared in Dinner at Eight, Ring Round the Moon (Tony nominations) and Ivanov. She has also appeared Off-Broadway in Diff'rent, The Ginger Man (Obie), Isadora Duncan (Obie), Painting Churches (Outer Critics Circle Award), Dear Liar, A Bright Room Called Day, The Torch-Bearers, The Play About the Baby, and Helen.  She received the Obie Award for Sustained Achievement and was inducted into the Theatre Hall of Fame in 1996.

 

Each new "Downstage Center" is regularly broadcast at 6 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays at noon, Sundays at 7 p.m. and Wednesdays at 12 a.m. (all times EST).
