Mandy Murphy's VALER will receive a staged reading for Lone Star Theatre Company on October 17. Directed by Daniel McGowan, the new play centers around Burnett Family: three generations of born and bred small-town Texans. Whether they've bought into life in Paducah or have chosen to run from it, all of them have long been set in their ways, but an untimely death of a young cousin forces everyone to reevaluate. Will they soldier on as before, or will they change?

The cast features Jackie Abbott, Roberta Ahrens, Michael R. Douglass, Travis Emery, Belinda Harolds, Katherine Alt Keener, LaShonda Reese, Jackie Maruschak, Lindsey Olson, Bryn Packard, and Dakota Smith.

Now in it's fifth season, Lone Star Theatre Company is dedicated to bringing Texas Pages to New York stages by giving opportunities to Texas writers to have their work presented in the center of theatre around the world.

For more information about Lone Star Theatre Company visit their website, www.lonestartheatre.com. The reading is October 17th at Jack Dempsey's 33rd St at 7pm with a reception to follow. For tickets click here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/texas-reads-valer-tickets-28204610750
