The term "art house" takes on new meaning with a special theatrical series of events as NCM Fathom Events, BY Experience and PhilGrabskyFilms.com bring the world's greatest art exhibitions to U.S. cinemas this year. The "EXHIBITION" cinema series will feature high-definition tours of fine art exhibitions created for movie theater audiences beginning with "Manet: Portraying Life" on Thursday, April 11 featuring a career-encompassing collection of the works of Édouard Manet which is currently on exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts, London. The series then celebrates the 150th anniversary of Edvard Munch in "Munch: Munch 150" on Thursday, June 27 as the National Museum and the Munch Museum in Oslo host this "once-in-a-lifetime" exhibition of the greatest number of Munch's works ever. The final exhibition in the series, "Vermeer and Music: The Art of Love and Leisure" on Thursday, Oct. 10, comes from the National Gallery in London where audiences will see a unique perspective on the masterpieces of Johannes Vermeer. Each cinema event is hosted by art historian Tim Marlow who will go beyond each gallery with exclusive behind-the-scenes footage. The series is supported by DSAT Cinema.

Tickets for "EXHIBITION" are available at participating theater box offices and online at www.FathomEvents.com. For a complete list of theater locations and prices, visit the

NCM Fathom website (theaters and participants are subject to change). The event will be broadcast to nearly 450 select movie theaters across the country through NCM's exclusive Digital Broadcast Network.

"Manet: Portraying Life" - Thursday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m. local time

The eagerly awaited exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts, London, "Manet: Portraying Life" is the first-ever major UK exhibition devoted to the portraiture of Édouard Manet, spanning his entire career. The exhibition which includes masterpieces like "Music in the Tuileries," "Olympia," "Luncheon on the Grass" and "The Railway" will bring together great works from across Europe, Asia and the U.S. The cinema event will feature exclusive behind-the-scenes moments of the Royal Academy's exhibition preparation - moments usually hidden from view - and a biography of Manet and 19th century Paris. Together with expert guests, Marlow will examine the works of one of the all-time great artists and his forward-thinking, modern approach to portraiture.

"Munch: Munch 150" - Thursday, June 27 at 7:30 p.m. local time

Known for painting "The Scream" - which recently set a public art auction record of $120 million for one of the four paintings - Munch's exhibition has been hailed a "once-in-a-lifetime show." Hosted by the National Museum and the Munch Museum, both in Oslo, Norway, the event will feature the most ambitious presentation of Munch's art ever featuring 220 paintings - the greatest number of Munch's key works ever. The cinema event will take audiences through the process of putting the exhibition together as well as an in-depth biography of the man who lived from the mid-19th century through to the German occupation of Norway in World War II.

"Vermeer and Music: The Art of Love and Leisure" - Thursday, Oct. 10 at 7:30 p.m. local time

The final exhibition in the series, "Vermeer and Music: The Art of Love and Leisure," features the works of Vermeer who is most popularly known as the painter of the "Girl with a Pearl Earring." The National Gallery, London focuses on his art in relation to music in this particular exhibition. Music was one of the most popular themes of Dutch painting and revealed an enormous amount about the portrait model and the society. The

event tells the entire story of Vermeer's life and, in doing so, shows in detail many of the artist's great works including how his technique and materials affected his works.

"This exciting art exhibition series gives movie theater audiences a very unique opportunity to experience the detailed, superbly crafted works of Manet, Munch's remarkable masterpieces and Vermeer's startling and fascinating creations," said Shelly Maxwell, executive vice president of NCM Fathom Events. "Host Tim Marlow's expert knowledge of these three legendary artists will take fans on a remarkable, larger-than-life journey during each event all in the comfort of their local movie theater."

NCM Fathom Events, BY Experience and PhilGrabskyFilms.com presented the highly successful "Leonardo Live" exhibition in cinemas last year, taking audiences to the UK's National Gallery's sold out exhibition of "Leonardo da Vinci: Painter at the Court of Milan."
