Actress/comedian/author/blogger Leighann Lord celebrated her 25th anniversary in comedy at a special Women's History Month event presented by No Name Comedy Variety on Friday, March 31st at Q.E.D. Astoria.

Ms. Lord, a daughter of Queens, NY has spent a quarter of a century bringing her thinking cap, thought-provoking comedy to local, national and international audiences, as well as network and cable television (HBO's Def Comedy All-Star Jam and ABC's The View), and most recently served as the radio/TV co-host on the Emmy-nominated Star Talk with Neil de Grasse Tyson.

Leighann, whose memoir 'Real Women Do It Standing Up: Stories from the Career of a Very Funny Lady was published in 2016, was joined at the event by a talented line-up of female performers including: author/storyteller Michele Carlo and comedians Rhonda Hansome, Liz Miele and Carole Montgomery.

Lord proudly displayed an acknowledgement from New York City Mayor Bill deBlasio who recognized Lord for her "contributions to comedy and the entertainment industry in our city and beyond," and expressed wishes for her continued success.
