According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jesse Eisenberg will make his directorial debut with the new television comedy BREAM GIVES ME HICCUPS. The project will be based on his collection of stories of the same name and will star Parker Posey, Victor Rasuk and Elliott Smith. Filming is expected to get underway this month in New York City.

The show will center on "a quietly observant child, Oscar (Smith), as he copes with the dramatics of his recently divorced mother (Posey). He spends his lunches in the janitor's (Rasuk) closet at school writing thoughtful reviews of each restaurant his mom dragged him to the night before. He treats the reviews as a diary, documenting his complex relationship with his mother as they both "grow up" in the wake of a divorce."

Eisenberg was recently seen on the big screen as Lex LUTHER in Batman v. Superman. He will next star opposite Kristen Stewart in Woody Allen's Café Society. Other film credits include The Social Network, American Ultra, Adventureland, Now You See Me, The Squid and THE WHALE and Zombieland.

Last year he wrote and starred in the off-Broadway play THE SPOILS, directed by Scott Elliott. The production featured Erin Darke,Annapurna Sriram and Michael Zegen, and Kunal Nayyar.
